CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE ; One of the deadly disease of heart.

 WHAT IS CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE? 🤔

            Coronary artery disease
What comes to the mind when one says delicious food: burgers, pizza, or deep-fried food such as fries. These are the essential food items if you consider the word delicious. They sure are, but with great taste, comes great risks too and by risks, I mean health risks. These so-called delicious foods are rich in cholesterol which can cause coronary artery disease.

   Coronary artery disease or CAD is ranked as one of the deadly diseases in the world.
Approximately 370,000 people die from CAD in the US each year, and more than 10 million cases are registered each year in India. Mortality rates of CAD in developing nations like India, South Africa, Iraq, and others are on the rise. Mainly because of poor health education and awareness towards it, access to the healthcare and forms of prevention.

     Coronary artery disease is caused due to the formation of plaque in the coronary arteries i.e. those arteries which supply blood to the heart. The plaque is made mainly of the cholesterol and it results in narrowing the arteries over-time. The narrowing causes the obstruction in the blood flow through the arteries which could block the blood supply partially
or totally. The reduced flow of blood may result in chest pain called angina.

 Coronary artery disease can eventually lead to heart attack.

 SYMPTOMS;

Symptoms for CAD include chest pain, also called angina, it is described as a heaviness or tightening of the chest, heartburn, sweating, dyspnea i.e. shortness of breath which eventually leads to exertion. One can judge the disease if he/she is having these symptoms or not.

TREATMENT AND PREVENTION;

Treatment and prevention of CAD include low doses of aspirin which reduces the clotting of blood, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors: it slows down the progression of CHD, or the patient can opt for surgical methods like laser surgery or coronary bypass surgery which proves very effective in CAD. In order to prevent Coronary artery disease, one should keep
the cholesterol levels of the body in check. The person should avoid alcohol, tobacco, junk food and should eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. If anyone is having symptoms of CAD, he/she should consult the doctor immediately and follow his recommendations.
